Hey Lisa

Just catching up with my podcast listening and got to this one.

I've been meaning to do some warmup work personally, and here it is in 8 minutes or something. Bloody brilliant.

I'm so linking to this podcast. GREAT!

Jade1977,

Thanks SO MUCH for reminding me! You are right. It turns out that researchers used to believe that caffeinated drinks, even consumed in moderate amounts, had a diuretic effect. However, recent research shows that this is not true, and caffeine only has a diuretic effect if you consume large amounts of it.

But, as far as public speaking caffeinated drinks can make you jittery, sleepless or anxious (which of course is not good for public speaking). So, water is probably still the best bet to stay hydrated. It's calorie-free, caffeine-free, inexpensive and readily available.

Again, I am SO GLAD you commented. I feel stupid because I had listened to Monica's episode and I remembered feeling relieved to indulge in tea with caffeine. But I forgot about that when I wrote the episode. Thanks again for your comment!
